About the founder
Built by an engineer who speaks PLC and software.
I’m Nick. I’ve spent my career where controls engineering meets software, wiring plant-floor systems into the business and building the data pipelines in between. Setpoint is everything I learned there, turned into one platform.

Why Setpoint exists
Manufacturers don’t need more dashboards.
“No scripting. No guesswork. No patched-together tools.”
Most plants I’ve worked with run on a patchwork. One tool talks to the PLCs, another historian stores the data, a spreadsheet holds the tag map, and a script someone wrote years ago glues it all together. When that script breaks, the data stops, and nobody notices until a report is wrong.
As a controls engineer, I was usually the person asked to fix it. As a software developer, I knew it didn’t have to be that way. The problem was never a lack of data. It was a lack of structure and context.
So I built Setpoint to organize operations at the source. It connects natively to the controllers you already own, models your equipment the way the plant actually runs, and logs at the edge so the data is right where the work happens. Insights, alarms, reports, and AI sit on top of that foundation instead of on top of a mess.
I’m building Setpoint because I want every engineer, operator, and plant manager to have what I always wanted: clarity, context, and control from edge to cloud.
Expertise
Deep in the stack, from the controller up.
Setpoint covers the whole path from PLC to decision because its founder has worked every layer of it.
Controls engineering
Designing and optimizing control systems so the plant floor produces data worth trusting, not just data.
In Setpoint today
Native Logix, Modbus TCP, and OPC UA drivers, plus PLC discovery and L5X import.
Data pipelines
Uniting disparate systems so data flows cleanly from the machine to the enterprise without hand-built glue.
In Setpoint today
Edge logging, asset group structure, and Edge to Server to Cloud rollups.
Software development
Building production software, from C# services to modern web applications, that operators actually want to use.
In Setpoint today
One self-contained platform that runs the same on an industrial PC, a server, or the cloud.
Analytics that drive action
Turning raw signals into real-time insight, predictive maintenance, and measurable operational wins.
In Setpoint today
Uptime, Heater, and Tag insights, threshold alarms, scheduled reports, and AI chat.
The path to Setpoint
Software, data, and the plant floor.
Niagara University · B.S.
Computer & Information Science
Graduated with academic honors and a foundation in software, networking, and systems.
Enterprise data projects
Data engineering & client delivery
Built internal dashboards and data engineering strategy, and learned to turn business requirements into systems that ship on scope, on time, and on budget.
4 companies co-founded
Serial founder
Co-founded two cleaning companies, a coffee company, and a marketing & tech firm. Running real operations taught what software alone never could.
Manufacturing
Controls & software engineering
Worked hands-on with PLCs, networks, and plant systems, connecting the floor to the business and building the pipelines in between.
Setpoint
Founder
Took everything learned in the plant and in software and built the platform he always wished he had.
My promise to customers
What working with Setpoint looks like.
You talk to the person who built it
Demos, scoping, and support questions come straight to an engineer who knows the code and the controls behind it.
Only what ships
If it’s on this site, it’s in the product today. No slideware, no roadmap dressed up as features.
Built for the floor first
Setpoint runs at the edge, next to your machines. The cloud is an extension, not a requirement.
Configure, don’t script
Templates, asset groups, and frames replace one-off scripts, so your team owns the system after we leave.
